What a great time to live in North Central Texas. Our winters are unbelievably bearable. Today the sky is bright, sunny and lightly shaded with feathery wisps of high cirrus clouds and the north wind reminds me that there really is a cold and miserable winter being endured by some unfortunate souls somewhere, but not here.

It is under this winter sky that I am moved to remember all that I have to be thankful for. There is not enough space in the blog-a-sphere to write them all and I do not have the time or words to even attempt to do so. Let me suffice by saying that I am a man most blessed. I have lived an amazing life and have experienced the love and favor of God, family and good friends during most of the fifty-five years that I have lived. My children love God and serve Him, my wife is a godly woman, great mother and good friend and I have many other people who love me and care for us as a family. At the end of life what more could a person desire? There is nothing else that matters; not money, fame, pleasure or possessions. To love and be loved, by God first and then family and friends, is the greatest fulfillment that this life has to offer.
And so as this winter afternoon slowly descends into evening and the cold surrounds us again, I say to the Lord Jesus, "Thank You!" It is good to be saved, to be loved, to have the chance to live and to live in the great state of Texas! Stay warm!
Blessings & Grace,
Michael
