the Prodigal Son

This is a real favorite of mine from Rembrandt.  I am always amazed as I take the time to meditate on this work by the detail, color and mood of the painting. The great compassion in that Father's face and the ultimate relief in the countenance of the returning son. what a great expression of our heavenly Father's acceptance and love bestowed upon all those that would come to themselves and return to Him.
